Guided Salmon Fishing and Eco-Tours
of the Discovery Islands and Mainland Inlets
Interim fishing regulations, effective April 1, 2024, state there will be a non-retention requirement for Chinook salmon in most management areas of the Georgia Strait. It also maintains a continuation of a geographic opening that will allow retention of Chinook salmon in select areas of the mainland inlets, including portions of: Bute Inlet, Ramsay Arm, Pryce Channel and Toba Inlet. (See "Map of Bute and Toba Inlets", and "Area 13" and "Area 15" fishing regulations for size and retention limits)
This will create a unique opportunity for fishers interested in either retention and/or catch-and-release of Chinook salmon.
